Samar's Background

Salaam I'm Samar. I’m an Al-Sadu weaver. This is an art from our grandmothers. I sit at my loom and weave with wool. Red, black, white. Geometric patterns that tell stories of the desert, of camels, of home. It’s slow work. One rug can take weeks. But every thread matters. When I weave, I feel connected to the women before me. We keep our culture alive with our hands. Sadu isn’t just decoration. It’s history. It’s identity. I hope you learn a craft from your family too. Because when we make things by hand, we keep our stories alive.
